Ohio is literally in the middle of a snowpocalypse. There is record snowfall in Dayton and Cincinnati, and in many other areas its simply been snowing for 3 or 4 days straight. While this has certainly made it difficult for visitors to reach campus, we've been happy to welcome some really great students to Bluffton University this week. Monday we held a campus open house, called our Discovery Day. Juniors, seniors and their families toured campus, met with professors and current students, ate lunch in our dining hall and got a feel for our academic community. I met some truly outstanding young people who are searching for the college that best fits their personalities, goals and ambitions. And I know I've said this before, but I just have to say it again: there is no better way to find out if you fit in at a certain college than to visit! Within the context of a visit, you will find out so much more than a website or brochure can tell you, and the atmosphere of the classrooms, student center and residence halls will tell you a lot about whether you'd like to continue looking at that particular school. So...if you haven't had the chance to visit all the schools you've applied or been accepted to, I encourage you to schedule visits as soon as you can. You won't regret it!
If you or someone you know is a junior this year, check out the info for our upcoming For Juniors Only overnight visit on March 25-26. We are excited to introduce a new set of students to all the unique aspects of Bluffton University!
Until next time (when hopefully the snow will have melted!)
-Andrea
